Promotional Marketing is something that is dominating our society today. It is everywhere and on everything. You see marketing on television all the time. You might think they only market in commercials on TV but they also market in the shows. There is products and services being marketed at basketball games because most games are sponsored by many different companies.

There is even a ton of marketing in your own house. It can be found on your computer when you go online and see pop up adds or when you see those advertisements on the side of websites. It is found in your bedroom closet on your sweaters and your jackets. It is found in your kitchen on food labels. There is almost no way to avoid marketing as it is everywhere and it is highly effective. A lot of people don't understand how important it is to market something when you want to sell an idea or an product. We market things just about everyday, from the big corporate CEOs down to the simple average Joe.

When you apply for a job, you dress in a suit and you bring in a resume. You are marketing yourself, by wearing a suit, you are telling your boss that you are professional. Marketing is all about selling an idea or an product, in the case of finding a job, you are selling yourself. Promotional marketing is perhaps one of the best ways to a product become successful.


Just about every big fortune 500 company does it. One of the most aggressive marketing campaigns being launched right now is done by Nintendo and it is for their new Nintendo DS. They are stationing game stops all over the U.S. These are places where you can stop for a few minutes and try out their new system. It is something that hasn't been done before by Microsoft or Sony. These booths are generally all white and have about 4-5 employees introducing the system to you. This is all done as a pre marketing attempt as the new Nintendo DS is still not out on the market.

In marketing, it is very important to realize the demographic you are targeting, without realizing that, you can easily lose a lot of money to wasted attempts at marketing. You need to know the audience, what they want, and who they are going to be. Understand the value of your product and know what it brings to the table.
