Companies need to think about teenagers. Teenagers have large amounts of disposable income that they can use on purchasing goods and services from a company that appeals to them. In every country, teenagers can be found that spend more money than even the average adult man spends. These teenagers run around in groups and do things that are impulsive. By marketing promotional items to these kids, companies can create lifelong customers.

When a company uses promotional items to create brand loyalty, it needs to try to appeal to the specific interests of the group of consumers it wants to attract. Companies that are trying to attract teenagers should try to give away things that appeal to those teenagers in particular. What do all teenagers love? Teenagers like music. So, the company needs to incorporate music into its branded promotional items. Maybe the company can give away iPod covers that are covered in the company's logo.

It is smart to appeal to teenagers. Not only are they impulsive, they also talk more on social networking sites and cell phones. Buzz spreads quick with this demographic of consumers. These teenagers have the free time to sit on a Facebook fan page for the company and spread the enthusiasm about the brand. No adult consumer is ever going to do that. Having fans of the company that are teenagers is like hiring a street team to promote the brand and having them pay for the experience of working for the company. Buzz is the advertising medium of the new millenium. Appealing to a teenage demographic is a great way to get it working in favor of the company.


Another benefit of appealing to teenage consumers is that they actually wear T-shirts. This means that a company can get a great amount of free exposure by giving these kids shirts to wear that promote the company. If a shirt looks stylish, these consumers will wear it. Designing a shrt does not take much money. This is a great way to get a brand out into the community and to get people talking. A good thing to remember is that kids like racy jokes and interesting pictures. If a company can put something like that on a shirt, it will be able to get a teenager to wear the shirt and advertise the company's brand.

Promotional items are very cost-effective ways to market businesses. Giving these items to teenagers can be even more effective and cost less money.
